Why I Love Network Marketing

Why do I love Network Marketing? Let me count the ways…

Number one, and way ahead of anything else on the list, is who it forced me to become. I didn’t even know of the world of self-development and personal growth until it was introduced to me through this business.

Sure I got in the business for money and bonus cars, because I was sick of being broke. But in that quest for material rewards, I discovered it was not about what you get, but what you give.

It was around the same time I began my lifelong study on the principles of prosperity. And soon discovered that Network Marketing of all the business models, best practiced those principles, because all the rewards are based on merit and creating value.

In Network Marketing, you get paid exactly what you’re worth. Now that will either be the scariest thing in the world for you, or the most liberating. For me, it was the opportunity I waited my whole life for.

Most of you know my story: jailed as a teen, alcohol and drug addictions, expelled from high school, making poor choices. I didn’t have money, connections or education. But I still had a dream…

And in Network Marketing, if you have a dream and are willing to work for it, nothing can stop you but yourself.

What’s happened since?

Well I’m on around my tenth bonus car, made millions of dollars, and traveled the world. Even better, I’ve made thousands of friends, and nurtured an inner circle of some of the most amazing people on earth. I wake up each day when I’m finished sleeping, no boss, no time clock, no traffic jams.

I commute each day in my slippers from my bedroom to my office overlooking Biscayne Bay. (Unless I’m in Sydney, where my view is Hyde Park and the Opera House.) I have created a residual income machine, which produces cash flow from more than sixty different countries. That’s all cool, but it still doesn’t get you to the coolest part of the business…

Helping others grow.

Because the biggest reward you get will be sponsoring people into the business, then watching them step into their greatness.

Sometimes it’s just seeing their excitement when they make their first presentation or sponsor their first team member. Then you see then learn how to outline a training session to create results, and develop the skill to present it from the platform.

Later come the people skills, and you’ll marvel at how they handle egos, hurt feelings and conflict resolution. Next you’ll notice something shocking: They have become a leader. Not just because they have followers. But because they are developing new leaders of their own.

And then you wake up one day to a breathtaking realization: You have replaced yourself.

The Padawan learner has become a Jedi.

That’s why I love MLM. And why I hope you do as well. My deepest wish is that you’ll view Network Marketing as the professional career it has become and will lock arms with me to continue raising the standards of this empowering profession.

Unlike the corporate world—with its downsizing and rat-eat-rat competition—Network Marketing offers you the opportunity to nurture and empower the inherent talents in all those you sponsor. In this business, success means the chance to develop spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, and financially while you contribute in a positive way to others.

At its very core, Network Marketing is a teaching business, and this blog is dedicated to teaching you how to teach your own people. Stop by often, join the discussion. This is a “no pitch zone.” Please respect others and keep your comments generic.

As you undertake this journey of challenge, adventure, and growth, you will attract others who share your vision and follow your example. You will lead them for a short time, then release them as they unfold into leaders and start the process all over again. You will feel pride, joy, and a sense of accomplishment few ever experience. You will know that what you do means something—and that your community is a little bit better place because you have contributed.

Building a large, exponentially growing network is not easy—it’s not supposed to be. It is simple, however.

If you are open to being coached, follow the system, and don’t give up at the first sign of challenge, you can achieve abundant and lasting success in Network Marketing. If you’re just beginning the journey, start with Making the First Circle Work.

And whenever you face rejection or another challenge, keep this page bookmarked, and stop by to remind yourself why you do what you do. Send a link to your whole team. Tweet it, Facebook it, shout it to the rooftops. You may even want to have your serious prospects read this column.

It doesn’t matter what company you are in. We can all have a friendly competition, done with professionalism and respect. A rising tide raises all ships, and there is plenty of prosperity to go around.

You don’t have to have the “best” product, the “best” comp plan and the “best” company. You just have to have a legitimate product, comp plan and company, and be the “best” you can be. Because at the end of the day, what you’re really selling is you.

Become a student of the profession, and a student of life. Learn, grow and share. Your destiny will take care of itself.
